General purpose carbide corner-chamfer end mills are intended for milling a wide variety of common materials but are not suitable for milling hard materials like titanium or gummy materials like aluminum. Finishing end mills create a fine finish on the workpiece. Carbide end mills provide excellent wear resistance and heat resistance, and they are harder than high-speed steel or cobalt end mills. Corner-chamfer end mills have a square nose with slightly angled corners that help distribute cutting forces evenly to prevent damage to the end mill and extend its life.
